The fastest way to bore your colleagues is making shitty PowerPoint.

What I'm going to talk about

#1 - Single idea per slide

#2 - 6 Items per slide max

#3 - One Focus Point at a time

#4 - Black Background

#5 - Use Contrast

#6 - Takahashi Method

Ending with some Examples Good & Bad

Tip #1

Single idea per slide

Good

Bad:

Slides

1 idea = 1 slide

Make processing will better convey ideas

People can't multi-task, So don't make them

Tip #2

6 Items per slide max

How meny Circles are in the picture ?

This Takes 1.5 seconds for your brain

Takes .2 seconds for your brain

Brain's actually dont count the circles

Brains automatically "KNOWS"

its 6 circles

Tip #3

One Focus Point at a time

Bad:

Good

Use Contrast to visually highlight and guide FOCUS of your audence

Tip #4

Black Background

Good

1) keeps focus on you which is the actual presentation

2) Keeps clarity high

Bad

White distracts from the presentation

Slides are not the presentation.

Slides = visual aids

YOU are the presentation

Tip #5

Use Contrast

Bad

Good:

Tip #6

Takahashi Method

Damit just use it!

Just words + More slides = Better

Great for:

People who aren't good with 'art' or 'graphic' design
